Everyone has a story.

As a journalist, I value accuracy and context. Whether writing about beer, food, or agriculture, it’s my mission to convey the truth and nuance of people and places.

After graduating from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, I’ve worked as a reporter and editor across newspapers, magazines, and digital publications. I’m currently a freelance reporter and copywriter with a focus on beer, spirits, food, and the outdoors, with work appearing in:

  • The New York Times

  • The Washington Post

  • Good Beer Hunting

  • Craft Beer & Brewing Magazine

  • America’s Test Kitchen

  • Imbibe Magazine

  • Montana Quarterly

  • Thrillist

  • Chicago Magazine

  • Craft Spirits Magazine

  • Modern Farmer

  • Foodservice Equipment Reports, and more.

Previously, I served as managing editor at The Takeout and beer editor at DRAFT Magazine, and co-hosted a Montana-focused beer TV show called Beermuda Triangle. I’ve been interviewed by TV stations, newspapers, and magazines on the topics of beer and food, and have presented at Craft Brewers Conference, Master Brewers Association events, and at the Montana Pink Boots Society workshop.

In 2021, I received three awards from the North American Guild of Beer Writers: third place in Best Business Writing; third place in Best Commentary; and second place in Best National/International Reporting.

I’m a BJCP-certified beer judge and live in Missoula, Montana.
